A Thank You Note to Subscribers – Full Content Restored

Do you get RemodelingGuy.net in a feed reader or in your email? If so, then this post is for you.

I subscribe to my own blog feed. It’s not that I just need to read my post at least one more time (I usually read through them at least twice before posting), it’s more to monitor for technical issues and to know when the email has been delivered. But I often don’t open the emails… I already know what they say.

But today I did. And you know what. I was annoyed. I thought it was really a pain in the butt that I couldn’t see all the pictures and read the whole post in my email. Where is the convenience in that? Grrrr.

So, please forgive me. I’m restoring the full blog feed now so you get the whole post in your email and don’t have to go clicking around.

Why Did I Change It, Anyhow?

The reason this was done was two-fold.

  1. My advertisements pay based on page views and clicks. I can’t get either one from someone in an email.  So the thought was, “hey, it’s only a second to click over…”
  2. By publishing a full feed, I open my content up to being snagged by someone else.  People steal whole blogs believe it or not.  They just grab the feed and publish it somewhere else.  So I run the risk of losing some search traffic to a content thief.

But, um… now Tim, who are we thinking about here?  Are we thinking about what’s best for the loyal and wonderful reader?  Or are we thinking about what’s best for Tim?  Are we thinking in terms of plentiful provision, or are we hording and worrying about who gets how much and fighting and scraping for a little extra?

I think we all know the answer to these questions. So again, I say:

Thank You!

Dear RG subscriber, thank you for your patience.  Thank you for not unsubscribing and thanks for all those clicks over to the site.

I hope you continue to enjoy reading RemodelingGuy.net!

- Tim

On a related note, there is a new “Google +1″ button in the header of the site.  This is a new social tool developed by Google to help it weed out those thieving sites that steal content and send more search traffic to good sites that people actually enjoy and find useful.  If you feel so inclined, I’d very much appreciate any “Plus Ones” I can get.
